When he refuses to speak mandarin to us, I thought it is going to be a big challenge for the teachers to teach him Chinese language and word recognition. Last Thursday, teacher commented that he is good at recognizing words, I was not surprise as I know they have Chinese lesson almost everyday, but teacher said not many of his peers can recognize as many as he can. I told her we do practice at home when his mood is good, twice for this term. Well, looks like he does pay more attention during Chinese lesson as I have not strangle myself during our HL session. It is more like recapping the words he learnt in school, we are working on the 3rd story books now. *yeah! we don’t need Berries!*
On the other hand, I’m clueless what can I do to help him to learn reading English books. Maybe I can do word cards and use the same method for Chinese words. Maybe I should just continue reading the sight words books to him.
