The Sophisticated 6 – Birthday Celebration Part 1

See how spoilt we were, the eggs were not prepared by the mother of the birthday child but the aunt who pampered him a lot!! It has been our family tradition to crack hard boiled eggs on lunar birthday.

A rather quiet weekend in the house because there were only adults and no children. It was Asher’s Lunar Birthday and we thought it would be great to be with grandma and celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival. While we thought it was just going to be mooncake and tea on the table, grandma insisted to get a mini cake for Asher and he  chose 2 cheese tarts. Asher was all so excited to sing song and blow candles,  instead of asking daddy and mommy to blow candles together, he wanted grandma and his favourite aunty. For the first time, this boy stopped for a moment and declared he wanted to make a wish too! Super cute, still very babyish to me.

Surprise! Surprise! Someone was munching mooncakes and he could tell us the taste and his preferred flavor. Not too bad, in term of “taste & texture”, he is adapting well and less a fussy pot now. This year, I was so occupied that I didn’t buy any mooncakes, not even my yam teochew mooncakes, thanks to my sisters who got it, I wasn’t left out, next year I must remember to buy snowskin mooncakes for M and hold the gathering at our gardens, let the kids hang many lanterns while we eat mooncakes together.

Oh yes, we even visited Gardens by the Bay the weekend before it knowing they might it be together on the actual day, the kids had fun running and checking out these light up decorators around the gardens.

The 12 zodiacs! Asher had fun singing his zodiac song as he counted them.

Beautiful, isn’t it? I always tell Ben if our overseas friends ask where are the good places to visit in Singapore, it is a must to visit Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Zoo/Night Safari. Wanna visit GBTB this weekend? Check out this : (quoted from singpromos) you won’t want to miss it.

Blessed Birthday

It’s September again and this is just the start of the celebration until the end of the year. EAT EAT EAT, what can be more meaningful than being together as family? Eating is just part of it, it is always nice to be around, to stick around and to piss each other off. Well, that’s family. No matter what, we are together.

Happy Birthday to our dear mother and sister (grandma and aunty to the kids), You Both Are the Best !

Laughing Night @ Botannia

It was a planned BBQ night with the laughing team.  We were so totally looking forward to the day, it has been a while since we last met.   Love the food, love the ambience, love the buddies, love seeing the kids playing together and love hanging out with everyone of them.

And our star of the night was one who blew the candles and celebrated his birthday with us. Blessed Birthday to you, P!

The kids were thrilled with their bubble swords (thank you, C! Brilliant idea!)and enjoyed the pool while the adults in charge of barbecuing and eating( Thanks to those macho E & P). There were so much food and I was thankful to see my almond jelly ! I don’t really fancy this dessert but not when it is prepared by the Tan family. Thank You!! Good friends are hard to come back, we are truly blessed to know more than 1. Lastly, thanks J, N and K for organizing!!! Oh gosh, we just walked over to eat, how terrible!! Hahahaha!!!

Lucky Me – Uncle Ringo SG50 Carnival @ Golden Jubilee

I was one of the 10 Lucky Winner for Uncle Ringo Tickets Giveaway!!

I have won myself, or rather, won Asher & Brycen a Carnival ticket worth SGD60 for this year Carnival @ Golden Jubilee! It was just so unusual for us to go such crowded places, see what parents did for the kids. 😁 the queues were long, the night was warm, the crowd was a little unbearable but the kids had a wonderful night out despite minor hiccups.

Thank you for the tickets!  Hope to win more things for this month. ✌🏻️

Teachers’ Day Gifts – Himalaya Pink Salt Foot Soak

Again, some easy peasy DIY gifts for our dearest teachers. Easy to make but it doesn’t mean we anyhow do it. These were done with lots of love, I lugged all these back from town on my own, when I snapped a shot of my loots, together with these maison trays and containers, daddy immediately offered to send me home, told me to leave them at the store for collection on other day.

I overestimated myself, I turned away his offer and I could barely move after reaching home. I was glad I made that choices, I knew our weekends were packed (my lousy planning skill) and I knew it was impossible for me to spend our weekends on these. How I wish I could “share the scent”, the smell was heavy! I hope the teachers will love this foot soak.

Why were we did this? Really, they are the most patience teachers who are willing to work so closely with me ever! Besides this, we also made a canvas art for the school. A small one but it was 80% done by Asher.

I am crossing my fingers, hoping we will meet some kind and nice teachers when we go P1 next year.

SG50 NDP Celebration

We were about to leave the house to Sentosa Underwater World, then we met Alvin, our neighbour at doorstep, telling us to join the SG50 NDP celebration with Funpack distribution as well as high tea buffet spread for everyone at our estate.

Our plan was to just to drop by to collect the Funpack, but the efforts from the management committee and GRC volunteers changed our decisions. Look at the banner, balloon arch and stand, games corner, the whole event was a small one but if everyone thought like us, will the event be successful? The advisor of the GRC was around too, the young volunteers were under the hot sun helping out, and all we, the residents needed to do was to be there, to support. Daddy and I told Asher our decision to stay and he was agreeable, because he knew Niki would be there too.

Knowing the food may not be suitable for our fussy kid, we went out for proper lunch and came back home for the event. We were grateful, thanks to the management committee and GRC members for their efforts, we did not have to go to the nearest cc to collect our SG Funpacks.

Asher was happy as he got to pen down a line or two on the wishes card, do sand arts, get free balloon sculpture and meet some kids.

Some said all these are unnessesary, wayang before GE2015, whatever the case is, we are thankful, for everything.
